WILLIAM J. CALDWELL
William J. Caldwell, a retired salesman for Nabisco Co. and longtime Novato resident, died Sunday at his home after a battle against cancer. He was 62.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Winnipeg, Canada, and moved to Novato about 16 years ago.
Five years ago, he retired from Nabisco because of ill health.
He was a member of the Caledonian Club in San Francisco, an organization for people of Scottish descent. He also was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America in Marin County. For his service, he was awarded the silver beaver award.
Before he became ill, he was an active member of the Novato Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife, Bernice; three sons, Geoffrey and Douglas Caldwell of San Francisco and Scott Caldwell of Petaluma; three daughters, Lynn Wald of Canada, Cynthia Emerson of Cotati and Debbie Maissen of Mill Valley; and 12 grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held.
The family prefers memorial gifts to Hospice of Marin, 77 Mark Drive, San Rafael 94903.
