ALEXANDER FINOCCHIO
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alexander “Al” Finocchio of Greenbrae, the first person ever to serve 50 years with the Bank of America, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Sebastian’s Church in Greenbrae.
Mr. Finocchio, 80, died unexpectedly on Saturday at Ross General Hospital.
He was born in Kesnick, near Auburn, and lived in San Francisco before moving to Marin in 1948.
Mr. Finocchio worked for the Bank of America from 1919 to 1969. He joined the bank at the age of 15 as a $40-a-month messenger. He became an officer in 1932 and was manager of the Sunset branch in San Francisco when he retired.
He was a member of Meadow Club in Fairfax.
Mr. Finocchio is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucy Finocchio; two sons, Robert Finocchio of Los Gatos and Arnold Finocchio of Sacramento; a sister, Lillian Figueirido of San Rafael; a brother, Joseph Finocchio of Greenbrae; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons.
His family asked that memorial contributions go to the Marin County Heart Association.
