James Maffei Of Greenbrae Dies At 68
James J. Maffei of Greenbrae, 68-year-old partner in a San Francisco spice cleaning and grinding business, died this morning at a local hospital.
His death, caused by virus pneumonia, was unexpected. He entered the hospital last Friday.
Maffei is survived by his wife, Zelda, with whom he lived at 5 Corte De Sabla in Greenbrae. His son, Raymond, his partner in the Commercial Seed Cleaning Co. in San Francisco, lives at 15 Corte De Sabla, and his daughter, Mrs. Estelle O’Donnell, lives around the corner at 210 Bretano way. Maffei is survived also be seven grandchildren.
Before forming the partnership with his son 13 years ago, Maffei was with another San Francisco spice firm, had been a banana importer and had operated a hardware business in his native city of Sonoma. He had been a Greenbrae resident for five years.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Valente, Marini, Perata and Co., 649 Green street, San Francisco.
