Mrs. Kent’s Will Filed for Probate
Thousand Dollars for Orphanage
Bulk of Estate Goes to Son
Employees Remembered

The will of the late Mrs. A. E. Kent was filed for probate last week. It was executed in 1907 with S. M. Augustine and A. N. Boyen as witnesses. Her son, Hon. Wm. Kent and the late S. B. Cushing were named as executors, to serve without bond.

Bequests are made to her relatives but the bulk of the fortune goes to her son and his family.

$1000 is given to the Presbyterian Orphanage at San Anselmo.

$5000 each is given to her nieces Alberta Stearns and Mary Stearne (sic) Burke.

$5000 to her nephew, Alvah D. S. McCoy.

$1000 each to her nephews Esmonds L. Olden and Frank Olden.

$1000 to her grand niece Mrs. Ina Knight, a daughter of Edwin Olden.

$1000 each to her faithful employees, Robert Cunningham and Margaret Stover.

$500 to Charles Olson.

To Wm. Kent and his wife, Thacher Kent and their survivors, as joint tenants, is given the home farm and estate situated at Kentfield.

$50,000 in trust is given for the benefit of her niece Mary Elizabeth Parsons, and at her death to go to Wm. Kent and his heirs. Mr. Kent has power to sell and invest as his judgment dictates.

To Wm. Kent is given 200 shares of the American Trust and Savings Bank of Chicago, to be held in trust for the benefit of her grand daughters, Elizabeth Sherman Kent, and Adaline Dutton Kent, said stock to be turned over to the ladies when they become 18 years of age – 100 shares each.

After the above bequests all the remainder of the estate goes to Wm. Kent.
The value of the estate is not given but it is supposed to go into the millions.
