Contest in Sears’ Estate

Attorney L. C. Pistolesi went to San Rafael yesterday to file a contest in the estate of the late Charles L. Sears, a pioneer San Rafael photographer and member of Muir Lodge, Knights of Pythias, in behalf of Christian A. Effinger, a blood relative of the late Mrs. Sears. Pistolesi alleges that the brothers of Sears are not legal heirs to the estate of Charles L. Sears as the estate belonged to his wife and was not community property at the time of her death, under the law, and the preferred legal heirs are her closest blood relatives not Sear’s. The estate is valued at about ten thousand dollars. Sears died intestate. – Sausalito News
