MONTGOMERY Estate Distributed to Heirs
The trust created by the will of the late ALEXANDER MONTGOMERY, whereby the sum of $1,000,000 was set apart for the benefit of the testator's minor children, Annie A. and Hazel C. Montgomery, was declared closed in San Francisco last Thursday. The final account of the surviving trustee, A.W. Foster, was settled and a decree signed releasing Mr. Foster from all liability, past, present, or future.
Both children are now of age. The elder, Annie, attained her majority April 6, 1899, and has long since received her share of the trust fund. The younger, Hazel, reached her majority December 3, 1901, and, as in her sister's case, a friendly suit was instituted by the surviving trustee to which the two children, their mother, Elizabeth A. Rodgers and Arthur Rodgers, her husband, were made defendants. The suit was decided without contest in the plaintiff's favor and Hazel Montgomery now enjoys a fortune exceeding half a million dollars. There was a material increase in the value of the estate under the management of Mr. Foster.
