Ghiringhelli Estate Is $290,000

Joseph Ghiringhelli, late owner of the Deer Park Villa in Fairfax, left an estate of $290,000 with an annual income of $20,000, but no will to dispose of the property, according to papers filed in Marin Superior Court.

Since the 76-year-old restaurateur left now will, the courts will decide how his property is divided, but codes specify it should go to his wife, according to a court attace.

The papers were filed by Antoinette Ghiringhelli, wife of the restaurant owner who died Jan. 14 of a heart attack.

Born in Italy, Ghiringhelli began working in restaurants in San Francisco to pay his fare from Italy, then opened his first Marin restaurant in 1921. The Deer Park Villa, which is still run by his family, was founded in 1937.
