New Marinite To Share Big Bequest
Harry J. Lehman Jr., a new Marin resident who picked this county as his home after survey of the whole United States, will share a $2,383,491 bequest with his sister.
News came today by Associated Press from Buffalo, N.Y., where the figure was set through state appraisal of the gross estate of Lehman’s father, the late Harry J. Lehman, founder and president of the Wildroot Co. until it was merged last year with Colgate-Palmolive Co.
The estate will be divided between the son and one daughter, Mrs. Betty L. Oppenheimer of Buffalo.
Now living in a rented home at 238 Evergreen Avenue, Kentfield, with his wife and a young son and daughter, Lehman has a new luxurious house under construction in Kent Woodlands.
A friend of the family said today they are away skiing for a few days.
Formerly residents of Buffalo, they came to the conclusion that some better spot could be found and they undertook it in systematic style, it was learned. First they traveled throughout the United State, inspecting every area of promise. This resulted in a decision to settle in Marin.
