Your description of Cochran's is precisely as I recall it. I recall Detroit Whitey, Pittsburg Phil, 100 Ball Blackie, Nine Ball Tony, One-eyed Hank, and any number of others that I watched play there. Hank may well have been one of the best; however, was hanged in his hotel room in the early 60's.
