My father Bill Sweeney Sr. worked for Mannings starting in 1955 as a coffee salesman. He worked in Seattle and had a office on Battery St. I remember to to his office on the weekends while he did his book work and my brother and I would climb on the green coffee bags playing hide and go seek. My dad's boss was Andy Glover from San Francisco. When Manning's was sold I believe is when my father left Manning's and went on to Hills Bros. Coffee in San Francisco.
