The White Angel Jungle was a 1930s "soup kitchen" where San Francisco's unemployed were given free food. It was made famous by photographer Dorothea Lange who documented it during the Depression. There's a good web site with her famous photo at http://www.masters-of-photography.com/L/lange/lange_bread_line_full.html
: Do you know what the "WHITE ANGEL JUNGLE" is? Saw it on an old San Francisco postcard, but can't really tell what it is.
: Looked like a large group of people, with a separate inset photo of what might be a nurse in white. Might have to do with 1906, or perhaps a group of indigents.
: Thank you. Bev
