I have been told that there was structual damage to the homes south of Islais Creek during the quake. But, Islais creek acted as a fire break and therefore, they fire never
went south of Islais Creek.

My grandparents lived on third ave south at that time and I was wondering if the fires were stopped before crossint the creek?
