I lived on the corner of 48th and Taravel St. And, YES I remember the stable at 48th and Judah. I believe my aunt stabled a horse there. However, I too took riding lessons from McKellor and asst.
Wasn't Mrs. McKellor's horse named Goldie ( Palomino ) ?.
Yes, the tall blk. horse was named Midnight. Midnight had smooth gates. How about the Buckskin named Mouse ...?
My birthday present every yr. was to rent" Mouse" for all day. To ride along the beach, into the Golden Gate Park and back again.
I was also one to help/work @ the Palomar stable.
I also took english riding classes Mar Vista.
