Every Sunday my family, dad, stepmom, stepbrothers/sisters, and I would
take the bus downtown, walk to the "Mexican Emporium" aka the Thrift store, do a little shopping and then walk over to the movie house on Market Street. Every other Sunday we would alternate the movie theatre, between a Spanish movie in the Mission district (I think it was somewhere on 24th street) and the movie theatre downtown. The movie theatre downtown was a beautiful theatre with red curtains and a huge stage and I think I paid 25 cents to see the show - I really can't remember the name of the movie house, must be alzheimers! After the movie we'd stroll down Market Steet window shopping and walk to the bus stop on 5th & Mission and head home (Bernal Heights).
