Dressing up, ummmmm! Some of us weren't so lucky that we could afford Sunday Clothes to go down to the Big E, Hale Brothers, and J.C. Penney's at 5th and Market. But you were told, by my grandmother who was a bit conservative in any event, to make sure that you had clean underclothes because if you were run over by an automobile getting off of that streetcar (and we got to ride those inside - rather than the cow-catcher), you would not embarrass your family when they took you to the hospital.
