Many of us grew up with the Boys Club, and J.P. Hargrove, and Vince his assistant. There was basketball, and the shops upstairs where we made roses by drilling into plastic and then polising them to shiny little keepsakes (they called them that because we were kids and it was something that we made). There was Ping Pong too! And we could look at the pictures of the old bands and the leader - named Peralta I believe. I remember making the ten week (one before and one to close down the camp) first up to the Big River and the eighteen mile hikes to Mendocino, and then up to the Spinning Wheel Ranch. We lived in tents those days, and Phil Bortalussi (hope I spelled that right) played the piano and his folks made wine in the basement). Yes, a lot of memories and between the senior moments they are coming... where was I?
