We lived on Hale St., about 1939, a block off of Silver Av. and about 6 blocks from San Bruno Ave. I remember my parents commenting about the new homes on Sweeney St. (one block away) that were selling for the astronomical price of $3,000. Of course there was a finished room downstairs in the basement.
