I remember as a little boy my father having his collars and cuffs "turned" to get more wear from them. Not quite removable collars (I'm not that old!), but they would actually turn them around and use them over in order to get more wear. He wore suits in those days, looked pretty sharp if I could say so in an unbiased manner.
