DEVOE--BY STATE TELEGRAPH, San Francisco, May 17 -- Captain James DEVOE, an old resident and for many years senior partner in the firm of
Devoe, Dinsmore & Co., machinists, died at 2 o'clock this morning from a paralytic attack."
