ANOTHER GAMBLER KILLED - Robert EVANS and Ike BROKAW, well known in the San Francisco sporting circles, met on Monday afternoon on Bush street, entered a saloon and drank together, appearing friendly; but a moment after leaving the place, BROKAW struck EVANS a heavy blow in the face, when the latter put up his hands, saying: "Ike don't kill me." BROKAW, disregarding the supplication, advanced upon EVANS and fired, inflicting a mortal wound of which the victim died within 2 hours. It is reported that BROKAW, who has not treated his wife well, charged EVANS with improper intimacy, and that the assault resulted from words about this matter.
