VICKIE ROBBINS

A Requiem Mass was offered Friday, March 4, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Vickie J. Robbins, a member of the Blue Birds, who died suddenly in Daly City March 1.

Vickie was the sister of Kemala, Lynn, Douglas and John Robbins. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robbins of Daly City, she was the granddaughter of Martin and Yolanda Gemignani and the niece of Doris and Bill Ferguson.

Funeral services were from the Memorial Chapel of Carew & English, thence to OLM and interment at Golden Gate National Cemetery.

Eight Year Old Is Killed In Daly City

An eight-year-old Daly City girl was killed Tuesday afternoon when a young girl learning how to drive lost control of the car, which jumped the curb and pinned the girl against a palm tree on the front lawn.

Vicky Robbins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Robbins of 91 Fleetwood Drive, was pronounced dead on arrival at Mary’s Help Hospital.

According to the police report, Vicky was walking in front of 133 Northgate Avenue about 4:25 p.m. with her girlfriend Deborah Kazas of 55 Oakmont drive when the car struck them.

Deborah suffered only hip and leg injuries.

Police said the driver of the car was Madelin Forcini, 15, of 80 Lakemont Drive, apparently lost control of the car as she was rounding a gradual bend in the street during the driving lesson being given by her mother, Mrs. Grace Forcini.

The car was traveling at only about 10 to 15 mph at the time of the accident, police said. An investigation is continuing and no charges have been filed.

Vicky was a third grade student at the nearby Olympia School. She was a member of the Bluebirds and Our Lady of Mercy Church.

Besides her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Kamala, 15, and Lynn, 12, and two brothers, Douglas, 10, and John, 17 months.
