Edward James Silk
Edward James Silk of Oroville, a 30-year Half Moon Bay resident, died of natural causes Aug. 12 at Fremont Hospital in Yuba City. He was 78.
A native of Oil City, Pa., Mr. Silk was an Army veteran who served in Korea. He lived briefly in Toronto, before coming to California. He came to the Coastside in the early 1960s and lived here until relocating to Oroville nine years ago.
Mr. Silk worked as a foreman for the Sheet Metal Local Union 104 San Mateo. He was also a member of the Lions Club of Half Moon Bay.
"He was very happy and had a very quick wit," said Mr. Silk's wife, Patty Silk, of Oroville. "We're going to miss him a lot."
Mr. Silk is survived by his wife, Patty Silk, of Oroville, his sons Darrell Larson of Nyack, N.Y., Jerald Larson of Montara, Kevin Larson of San Carlos and Gregg Silk of Santa Monica; daughters Lou Ree Johnson of Marysville, and Lynda Silk of Oroville, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Donald Silk of San Francisco and Robert Silk of Ontario, Canada; and a sister, Patricia Silk of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Private family services were held.
