Charles E. "Chuck" Henderson
Charles E. "Chuck" Henderson was a familiar face onstage and a familiar, supportive presence backstage, with Coastal Repertory Theatre in Half Moon Bay.
He died Sept. 25 at home with his family, following a battle with cancer.
Mr. Henderson was born on May 24, 1934, and raised in Palo Alto. He was an employee of Ampex Corporation in Redwood City for 26 years before retiring as payroll manager in 1995.
He was an active member of Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City for 35 years, and active with Coastal Repertory Theatre for the last 10 years.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda M. Henderson of Half Moon Bay, his children Jeannie M. Swanson of Half Moon Bay and Philip J. (and wife Lisa) Henderson of Danville, and grandchildren Jessica and Jack Swanson and Alexandra, Natalie, Anastasia and Nicholas Henderson.
He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, J. Arthur and Marilyn Henderson of Palo Alto and Robert E. and Sharon Henderson of Lincoln, Calif., mother-in-law Marie A. Khoury of San Mateo and sister-in-law Christine A. Khoury of Belmont.
A celebration of Mr. Henderson's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Coastal Repertory Theatre at 1167 Main St. in Half Moon Bay.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Coastal Repertory Theatre.
