Rudolph J. Fellman
Rudolph J. Fellman, a 40-year Coastside resident, died June 28 at Seton Medical Center Coastside, due to congestive heart failure. He was 84.
Mr. Fellman was born in Sydney, Australia, but came to the United States when he was 9 months old, and his family settled in San Mateo County. He grew up in Daly City and attended Jefferson High School before going to work in roofing with his father. It was a profession he remained in until he retired at 63.
He married his wife, Pat, on March 31, 1962, and the couple moved to Montara 40 years ago after passing through the area on a drive and falling in love with it. "He loved the coast," said Pat Fellman, "and we'd taken a ride (through it), saw a (empty) lot, and bought it and built a house."
Mr. Fellman was a gourmet cook, said his wife, and that included shopping and preparation. "He did it all," she said.
He also had a sense of humor and loved spending time with family. He enjoyed travel, particularly to Lake Tahoe and Reno, Nev., and loved simply driving his car, his wife said. He owned a 1986 Camaro on which he put 538,000 miles. "He'd drive to Fresno for lunch," she said.
Mr. Fellman is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat Fellman of Montara, by his sons, Rudy J. Fellman III and wife Tina of Brentwood and Doug Fellman of Montara, and daughter Christi Bolduc and husband Greg of Auburn, Wash. He is survived by grandchildren Erica and Gregory Bolduc, and Nick, Alex, Olivia, Sophia, Isabella and Jack Fellman.
He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Marian Fellman of Millbrae, and nephew Michael Sellers and niece Marcia Sellers, both of San Mateo.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Miller-Dutra Coastside Chapel at 645 Kelly Ave. in Half Moon Bay, to be followed by burial at Our Lady of the Pillar Cemetery in Half Moon Bay.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Fellman requests donations to the Rotary Club of Half Moon Bay Foundation for a club member's relative who lives at Seton Medical Center Coastside in Moss Beach, at P. O. Box 31, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019.
