Genevieve Carruth
Genevieve Carruth of Half Moon Bay died May 12 at age 86 at her home.
Mrs. Carruth was born June 6, 1919, in Russell, Minn. Her family moved shortly thereafter to Redwood Falls, Minn., where she attended school.
On May 31, 1938, she married Wallace D. (Mike) Carruth in Morton, Minn. In 1959 she and her family moved to San Mateo County and lived in Burlingame and La Honda before she settled in Half Moon Bay, where she had lived for the past 12 years.
In Half Moon Bay, she particularly enjoyed the Senior Coastsiders senior center. Going to activities there was "one of the prized things she liked to do," said her son Don Carruth.
Mrs. Carruth is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Carruth, who died in 1993 in La Honda, by her brothers Joseph, Wallace and John Clifford, and her sister Elizabeth I., Maryann and Marjorie.
Mrs. Carruth is survived by sons Jack, Donald and Michael Carruth, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Albert and Jerome Daly and sister Elizabeth Hersey.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to Pathways Home Care and Hospice at 585 N. Mary, Sunnyvale, CA 94085.
