MARGARET STEELE
Funeral services were held this morning at 8:30 a.m. from W.C. Lasswell & Co. for pioneer Daly City resident Mrs. Margaret E. Steele, 82, of 475 Winchester Ave.
Mrs. Steele, a native of San Mateo County, died Sunday at San Mateo County General Hospital.
The deceased is survived by her husband, John I. Steele, and by her children, Mrs. Margaret M. Clatterbuck, Mrs. Anne L. McGrath, Mrs. Julia P. Wilson and Captain Henry A. Steele. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren. Mrs. Steele was the sister of Thomas Callan.
Long a participant in community activities, Mrs. Steel’s affiliations included Court St. Mary’s #1155 of the Catholic Daughters of America; Cypress Circle #14, UAOD, and El Camino Parlor #181 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, of which she was the charter president.
A requiem Mass was offered at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Rosary was recited last night at 8 p.m.
