CARL SMITH

Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon from the Evergreen Mortuary in San Francisco for Carl Miles Smith, 71, of 166 Westdale Ave., Daly City, who died Thursday.

Mr. Smith, a former director of the Port of San Francisco, was a native of Sunol and an Army veteran of World War I. He was past president of the California Assn of Port Authorities, a former member of the American Assn of Port Authorities and a member of Elks Lodge #3.

The deceased was the husband of Catherine Smith of this city.

Interment was at Golden Gate National Cemetery.
