JOHN MARSH
One of Half Moon Bay’s pioneer residents, John (Jack) Marsh, 423 San Benito St., died March 4 in Belmont after a long illness. He was 83.
A native of HMB, Mr. Marsh was a retired dairyman. In 1918 he was instrumental in the founding of the Marsh, Beffa & McCarthy Dairy of HMB and Tracy. His affiliations included the IDES Society and the Native Sons of the Golden West chapter in Half Moon Bay, of which he was a charter member. The chapter is now incorporated with Pescadero chapter as Peddle Beach Parlor #230.
Survivors include Mrs. Mary Marsh of HMB, his widow; his daughter, Mrs. Edna Mae deCesare of Oakland, his brother, George, who lives in San Carlos, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday from Dutra-Randleman Funeral Home in HMB, thence to Our Lady of the Pillar Church for requiem mass and interment at Pillar Cemetery. NSGW members officiated.
