EMMONS (JOE) BERRIE

Funeral services were held yesterday from Emmons (Joe) Berrie, who died January 25 in San Francisco.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Louise Healy, 123 Tayon Drive, in South San Francisco, and two brothers, T.F. Berrie, of Sherman Oaks, California, and Benjamin Kirkland, San Mateo. Two daughters and one granddaughter are also listed.

A native of Aiken, South Carolina, he was 58. He was the son of the late William Berrie of South Carolina, and the late Mrs. Mary Kirkland, South San Francisco.

He was a member of the Philadelphia Athletics Baseball Team for five years, and was later employed as a special agent for Travelers Insurance Company in San Francisco.

Private interment was held at Olivet Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements were by the Nauman and Lincoln Mortuary.
