MARY ANN BAGALA
A Requiem Mass was said last Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in San Francisco for Mrs. Mary Ann Bagala, 99, who died January 12. Mrs. Bagala, who would have been a centenarian this year, died just two months before her 100th birthday.
A native of New York, she moved to California in 1867, when she was two months old. She married George Bagala in 1886, and the couple had one daughter and six sons. Leonard Bagala is the surviving son.
She resided in the Excelsior District for fifty years, and then moved to Westlake to live with her great-granddaughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Heisenbuttel. Six years ago, Mrs. Bagala fell and broke her hip and had been a patient at the Millbrae Sanitarium since the accident.
Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were by Valente, Marini, Perata and Company.
