DOLPH U. THOMAS
Funeral services were held Friday morning in Daly City for Dolph U. Thomas, well known sports figure, who died February 21 in San Mateo. He was 77.
A native of Italy, he had lived in this county for 20 years, and had last resided at 110 Westlake Avenue, Daly City.
He had been the operator of the Royal A.C. in San Francisco, and had been manager, trainer, and second for numerous top fighters, since the turn of the century, among them Max Baer. He was the past president of the Boxers and Wrestlers Welfare Fund.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, and was the father of Edward F. Thomas and the late Lorette Barel, and the father-in-law of John Barel. His sister, Mrs. Ida Corazza, also survives, and two grandchildren are also listed.
Interment was at Olivet Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements were by W.C. Lasswell and Company.
