GENERAL A.J. JONES

Graveside services were conducted Monday morning at Golden Gate National Cemetery for Major General Albert J. Jones, the only general officer on the Bataan Death March. He died May 12 at Letterman General Hospital in the Presidio of SF.

General Jones, 76, is survived by his wife, a daughter, Barbara Henry of SF, and four sons, retired Army Major Bud Jones of SSF, Tom Jones of Pacifica; Jack Jones of Venice, and Robert Jones of San Rafael.

The General was considered one of the Army’s most decorated officers. His medals included the Distinguished Service Cross and Legion of Merit.
