FRED WALKER
Fred Walker, a former candidate for the Daly City Council during the controversial “Callan Annexation” of 1961, died last week in Boston of a heart attack.
He was part of a campaign slate known as the “NOW” group, composed of Tom Noonan, Bernard O’Hare and Fred Walker. They ran against Ed Dennis, Michael DeBernardi and Bob St. Clair.
The former newspaper editor had been ill before going to visit his son in Boston.
He is survived by his daughter Mrs. Patricia Driscoll of Walnut Creek, Mrs. Elizabeth Huttlinger of Virginia and Mrs. Sheila Browning of Oregon and his sons, James Walker of Corte Madera and Mike Walker of Boston, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Helen Barton.
Funeral services were held yesterday. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery.
