WALTER SCHENK
Masonic funeral services were conducted July 29 by officers of Crocker Lodge No. 454, F&AM, for Walter Clarence Schenk, 79, who died July 27 in San Francisco after a long illness.
Mr. Schenk was the husband of Dot Helyn Schenk and the father of the late Horace Schenk. Survivors include his granddaughter, Pamela Schenk, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Violet Schenk of Belmont; and his step-son, Lt. Col. Carlyle L. Ruttledge, USAF, Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. He was also the step-father of the late Lt. De Langton E. Ruttledge, USNR.
Past Master of Crocker Lodge, the deceased was also Past Patron of Crocker Chapter #382, OES. Affiliations included California Bodies of the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite; Islam Temple of the Shrine, for which he was Sunshine Committee chairman; California #2 Foresters of America, of which he was Past Chief; Ranger Ben Hur Assn.; Nazarene Shrine #2, WSJ; and San Mateo Pyramid of Sciots of which he was a Past Toparch. He was also a 50 year member of the SF Printing Pressman & Assistants Union, local #24.
Services from Halsted & Co., were followed by entombment at Olivet Memorial Park.
